Writer's Block: What’s in a Name?
Mar. 5th, 2012 09:50 amI used to wish I had another name because I hate my second name. It is truly horrible, courtesy of my father. The one my mother gave me is too perfect for words. It is my firts name. I understand the meaning (helps that it is my own language), it has a good meaning, based on positive history and I feel like I can relate to it. She put some thought into it, something that a lot of parents don't do in my opinion. The name they give their child is the name that their child has to live with, go to school with, interact with other people with. Don't translate names either. It may sound good and be good in one language but ridiculous in another.
